One Response to C.R. Language Arts Classrooms

I am currently teaching an inclusion class of first graders. I’ve learned that I have most certainly taught a group of students quite similar, but with no label. This module reminded me of everything that was working for me in the past that I sometimes lose sight of. The six habits listed must be BELIEVED in and practiced consistently. An effective teacher has accepted that there is never going to be enough time in the day, but will attempt to create it……everyday. It is truly a complicated job with challenges that must be met with determination and positive thinking. I agree that we must determine and focus on EACH student’s strengths and weaknesses. This module is a reminder that teaching is hard work. It is a career that requires flexibility and the ability to think outside of the box. I also agree that we must focus on grade level material and help each student reach his/her potential. This philosophy is often ignored. We must find a way to fill those gaps, while not lowering our expectations. I look forward to navigating my through this site and learning more.
