Welcome to the
Teacher Support Network
As teachers in a complex world of teaching, we can collaborate to take real-world experience and research-based theory and turn it into relevant best practice. We may teach in different schools, communities, counties and states but our challenges are ever similar. When we capitalize on our opportunities to connect via the web we can develop an essential mass of information that can help to ensure all of our students are empowered by strong positive teachers. Learn and Advance in your teaching based on your own needs and interests. The ten Culturally Responsive Learning Modules have been identified as essential competencies for highly effective teachers. Each module offers a condensed “must know” set of information according to that competency, a 10-15 min. video that engages personal reflection, and opportunities to extend the learning through our recommended books, resources and videos that show best practices in action. Become Inspired & Inspire Others We have all chosen a very noble profession. Our conscious choice to teach in a Title I school is a major undertaking. It is also rewarding in soo many ways. Strong effective teachers require a positive outlook, sense of urgent mission and strength of mind. Many teachers remain in their Title I schools for their entire profession while maintaining balance in their personal lives. It is essential to nurture our personal inspiration through personal reflection and continue to advance as educators. Our students deserve our best, and often times their future depends on it. Visit Inspiration Station to start this path. Relieve Stress & Teach with Grace In a world of high stakes testing and teacher accountability we are often faced with limited time resources, additional meetings and constant interventions. Sometimes our students exhibit behaviors and academic setbacks that exacerbate these challenges. The S.O.S. “Save Our Sanity” Stress Relief Center gives numerous ways to proactively manage personal and classroom stress so that we exhibit high professionalism and integrity–even in highly charged circumstances. The Title I Teacher Support Network is the signature project of Light Education, Inc. a 501(c)(3) nonprofit public charity. Many of our resources are available for free because as educators and teacher mentors we want to ensure teachers have the most relevant resources and remain inspired. This will empower educators to continue their essential work for the students who need them most. Membership is available at a very nominal charge and only takes a few minutes. For further information, click “Join the Movement” and access all resources all year 24/7.
